Emily Kay

Emily Kay brings more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. She began her career on jobsites as a formwork carpenter in Nebraska before advancing to field engineer and later serving as a senior construction administrator for over a decade.

At Balfour Beatty, Emily has held key operations roles, leading teams to deliver county facilities, K-12 additions, summer modernizations, and new construction projects for the Torrance, Culver City, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach communities. She also spearheaded the expansion of Balfour Beatty’s special projects operations in Los Angeles, supporting a wide range of market sectors.

Her passion for construction and commitment to company success extend beyond the jobsite. Emily co-manages Balfour Beatty’s cultural framework, actively participates in the Connecting Women employee affinity group, and has been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the Outstanding Women in Design and Construction.

Emily is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, holding a bachelor’s degree in construction management with an emphasis on business management.
